Burke Shelley writes YA dark fantasy that refuses to look away. His work lives in the territory between Coraline and A Monster Calls: stories where children face real darkness and survive through honesty, not luck.
The Little Really trilogy follows a girl too small for her sword through a world of orange forests, purple-eyed sorceresses, and truths that hurt more than lies. Book One, Little Really and the Sword of Soothsaying, arrives April 2026.
Before fiction, Shelley composed avant-garde chamber music, and that background shapes his prose: rhythm, silence, and the weight between words. His short stories "The Dog Father" and "Idol of Ion" explore the Little Really universe through different lenses.
He is completing his degree in English and Creative Writing while finalizing the trilogy. When not writing, he builds worlds where mercy is harder than murder, and the cost of service is always worth it.
